The "TheZone," a camp that is open to children, is the highlight of the camp. The camp offers activities like zip lining, horseback riding and bumper boats. Campers can also meet counselors. The program is also designed for b'nos Torah (or Jewish learning). It is an immersion camp for children. Many of the children attend the ChillZone, which is nearby.

The resort is also home to the annual conference for TheZone. This conference takes place in beautiful surroundings and offers inspiring lectures, one on one learning, and a range of recreational activities. It has horseback riding and a putting green, as well as first-class amenities.

Tuesday evening program

The DiscoverU program takes place on Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 8pm EST. To participate, you must attend all five days of the program. Register in advance to gain access to the program. The camera must be activated in order to use the program. The program is held on four Tuesday nights per year.

The purpose of the program is to expose students to a variety of careers and their requirements. This program aligns with Washington STEM's Career Connected Learning Continuum Framework. The more students know about career paths, the better they will be able to prepare for college. DiscoverU provides a great opportunity for students to begin this process earlier in their education.

How To

How to stay safe while aboard a cruise vessel

You need to know a lot before you set sail on your cruise. You must understand how to behave when onboard so you don't get into trouble. Here are some safety tips to help you enjoy your trip.

  1. At all times, be aware of your surroundings. People tend to gather together on cruise ships, especially at meals. It is easy to lose sight of your task when you are surrounded by people who want food and chat. You shouldn't allow this to distract you away from the important things you need to do. If you see someone doing something dangerous, like smoking or drinking alcohol, tell them politely to stop.
  2. Keep your room keys close to your body when you board a ship. When you get onboard, hand your key over to the person checking you in. You'll be easily found if something happens. Your passport is also important.
  3. Your valuables should be kept out of reach. Many cabins have drawers underneath the bed. That's a great place to store valuables such as passports, credit cards, and money. Also, make sure nothing valuable is visible in plain view. You should keep your bags hidden away from others.
  4. Hydrate. Cruise ships provide plenty of water, but sometimes it's hard to remember to drink enough. Make use of the free bottled water provided throughout the ship. Keep yourself hydrated. Dehydration can cause fatigue and make it difficult to concentrate, leading to arguments or even accidents.
  5. Listen to announcements carefully. Announcements are displayed everywhere, including on TV screens. They include safety procedures as well emergency exits and even weather reports. These announcements should be heeded. These announcements might save your own life.
  6. Never leave your cabin unlocked. No matter how kind a crew member might seem, your cabin should be locked. Many thieves break into cabins by stealing the doors. Crew members can give permission to you to use the restroom if you are in need.
  7. Do not go overboard by yourself. It takes time for the ship’s crew to rescue anyone who falls overboard. Your body may be attracted by sharks and other sea creatures. Waiting until help arrives is the best option.
  8. You should not smoke in an elevator. These elevators have high pressure, so smoke can build-up quickly. Get out as soon as you feel dizzy. It doesn't necessarily mean that breathing is safe, even though the outside air is clean.
  9. Be familiar with the evacuation procedures. Every year, thousands die from being trapped in an elevator. Follow the instructions on screen if you are in an emergency.
  10. Learn the basics of the fire drill. Fire drills happen regularly, usually once per day. Everyone on deck needs to evacuate during a drill. Follow the instructions given by crew members. Once the drill is over, you can go back to the cabin and lock the doors.
  11. Ask questions before accepting food or drinks. Cruisers are often concerned about food poisoning. It is common for people to not realize that certain foods can't be eaten onboard ships. For example, raw oysters are forbidden aboard most cruise ships. If you're not sure whether the food being served is safe, you can politely decline it and opt for another meal.
  12. Be careful when using the pool. There have been numerous instances of people accidentally falling into the pools. It is possible to slip and fall into the pool without being noticed. It is possible to slip and tumble on the deck at any given moment. Wearing proper footwear is a must and paying attention to the surroundings are important.
