Norwegian Cruise Line Announces Order of Four Concept Cruise Ships

royal caribbean news

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd has announced the order of four new concept cruise ships that will join the NCL fleet by the end of 2025. Fincantieri will deliver one of the four ships, which can hold 3,300 people. Fincantieri's prototype project is the basis for this order. The four ships will have a total capacity of 140,000 tonnes and their designs will follow Freestyle Cruising (a style of cruising promoted by NCL).

Carnival Pinnacle

The Pinnacle Project, a concept ship for cruise ships, was designed by the Carnival Corporation in collaboration with Fincantieri (an Italian shipyard) and Fincantieri (an Italian shipyard). Originally planned to be the world's largest cruise ship, the Pinnacle Project would have had many pipe dreams and unheard of features. Joe Farcus, Carnival Cruise Line's chief designer, was the one who came up with the Pinnacle Project. It was later incorporated into Carnival Vista, a construction that took many years.

Pinnacle was a cruise ship design that featured a split structure that ran the length of the ship's Stern. While the design of the stern is similar to that of MSC Seaside, the Pinnacle was intended to feature two slides instead of one. The two slides were dry varieties that had a lot of corkscrews and not the traditional wet variety found on other ships.

Celebrity Edge has been under construction in France for over a year. It arrived at Port Everglades in August and is due to be christened early December. It will be taking a week-long Caribbean cruise from Port Everglades to the spring and then heading to the Mediterranean for summer 2019.

FAQ

What should I do on my cruise?

You need to decide where you want go, if your goal is to visit different ports. These details can also be used to help you narrow down your search. For example, if history is your passion, you may choose to cruise to destinations such as Alaska, Bermuda or Canada. A cruise that includes places such as Jamaica and Tahiti can be a good choice if you're more into water sports and beaches.

Are cruises a formal affair?

No, you don't need to wear formal attire or anything fancy. Be comfortable and ready for relaxation.

What type of cabin do I need?

Think about the space you need when choosing a cabin. Are you comfortable sharing a bathroom with another person? Or would you prefer to use your own bathroom? Is noise important to you? Is it important to you that you spend more time in the stateroom or the dining area? Think about whether you want an interior view or a patio. Balconies offer more space but can sometimes be noisy. Interior views tend to be quieter than balconies.

How do I pick the best cruise line?

Choosing the right cruise line is easy. The first step is to decide which type of cruise you'd like to take. Are you looking for a smaller, intimate cruise or one with many people? Consider how much you can afford. If you are looking for something more affordable, look for cruises that offer "all-inclusive" packages. These packages will save you the hassle of paying for extra food, drinks, entertainment, and so on. You should also ensure that your cruise line offers good family programs if you're planning on a family trip.

How To

How to stay safe while aboard a cruise vessel

Before embarking on your cruise ship journey, there are many important things you should know. You must understand how to behave when onboard so you don't get into trouble. Here are some safety tips to help you enjoy your trip.

  1. Pay attention to your surroundings at all costs. People are more likely to be together when they're eating on a cruise ship than anywhere else. You can easily become distracted by the chatter and food of others. You shouldn't allow this to distract you away from the important things you need to do. If you see someone doing something dangerous, like smoking or drinking alcohol, tell them politely to stop.
  2. When you board the ship, keep your room key close by and give it to the person checking in. If you get lost or need to be found, this will help you to locate your shipmates. Also, make sure to have your passport.
  3. Your valuables should be kept out of reach. Most cabins have drawers under their beds. You can store important documents such as passports and credit cards. Make sure that nothing valuable is visible from plain sight. Your bags should be kept in the closet, so that no one can see them.
  4. Stay hydrated. Although cruise ships offer plenty of water, it can be difficult to remember to drink enough. Take advantage of the free bottled water available throughout the ship. Keep yourself hydrated. Dehydration makes you tired and cranky, leading to fights or accidents.
  5. Always pay attention to announcements. Announcements are displayed everywhere, including on TV screens. They include safety procedures, emergency exits, and even weather reports. These announcements will be of great importance. These announcements might save your own life.
  6. Always lock the cabin before you leave. Never leave your cabin unlocked, no matter how friendly a crew member seems. Thieves often break in through unlocked doors. Ask a crew member first if you need to use the bathroom.
  7. Avoid falling overboard alone. It may take time for the crew of the ship to rescue you if you fall overboard. Sharks and other marine creatures might be attracted to you while you wait. It's best to wait until help arrives.
  8. Never smoke inside the elevator. These elevators are pressurized and smoke can build up quickly. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, get off immediately. Even though the air outside is fresh, it doesn't mean breathing is safe.
  9. Know how to evacuate. Each year, thousands of people die after being trapped in elevators. If an emergency occurs, follow the instructions on the screen.
  10. Get familiar with the fire drill. Fire drills take place regularly, almost every day. Everyone on deck must evacuate during a drill. Follow the directions given by the crew members. After the drill is completed, return to your cabin and lock it.
  11. Ask questions before accepting food or drinks. Cruisers frequently experience food poisoning. Many people don't realize that certain foods aren't safe to eat while onboard a ship. For example, raw oysters are forbidden aboard most cruise ships. If you're not sure whether the food being served is safe, you can politely decline it and opt for another meal.
  12. Use the pool with caution There have been many cases of passengers falling into the pools accidentally. This is a common occurrence. It is also possible to slip on the ground. So always wear proper footwear and pay attention to your surroundings.
